Hydrogen Peroxide is recognized as an effective bactericidal agent capable of destroying various types of bacteria. During aseptic filling of food packaging, hydrogen peroxide acts as a sterilizer for surfaces, which will come into contact with the food products.
There are currently two types of technology used for packaging sterilization:
- Immersion technology, where the packaging is submerged into a 35% hydrogen peroxide solution.
- Pulverization technology, where the hydrogen peroxide is sprayed and applied to the packaging.
FMC Foret has developed several products to meet the different needs of the two main packaging technologies:
- AOPACK: specifically formulated for equipment used in immersion sterilization.
- AOBAFOS® and OxyPure® Bi: recommended for equipment used in spray sterilization.
