Hydrogen Peroxide is recognized as an effective bactericidal agent capable of destroying various types of bacteria. During aseptic filling of food packaging, hydrogen peroxide acts as a sterilizer for surfaces, which will come into contact with the food products.

There are currently two types of technology used for packaging sterilization:

  1. Immersion technology, where the packaging is submerged into a 35% hydrogen peroxide solution.
  2. Pulverization technology, where the hydrogen peroxide is sprayed and applied to the packaging.

FMC Foret has developed several products to meet the different needs of the two main packaging technologies:

  • AOPACK: specifically formulated for equipment used in immersion sterilization.
  • AOBAFOS® and OxyPure® Bi: recommended for equipment used in spray sterilization.
