Defloculants
The manufacture of ceramic products starts by preparing the clay, usually done in a wet process. This process requires the use of Deflocculants , which allow the slip (mix of raw materials in clay and water) to flow.
Deflocculants stop the precipitation of solids and decrease their content in the water, thereby reducing the quantity that evaporates in subsequent phases. Therefore, using Deflocculants provides a saving in energy costs.
FMC Foret has a wide range of Deflocculants , including organic and inorganic Deflocculants , available as liquids, and based on silica derivatives and various additives that improve their functionality.
