FMC Foret produces Sodium Bisulfite in two concentrations: 35% and 40%. It is mainly used to treat water, as a food additive and in the paper industry.

APPLICATIONS :

    • Preserving fruit, vegetable juices and shellfish (anti-melanotic).
    • Brewery: Sterilizing barrels, tanks and equipment in general.
  • Tanning: Dichromate reducing-agent in chromium tanning.
  • Paper: Anti-chlorine agent after bleaching with hypochlorite.
  • Textiles: Antichlorine in bleaching baths. Wool bleaching.
  • Water Treatment: Agent reductor.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Photography: Reducing-agent and preservative for fixers.
    • Synthetic Fibers: Polymerizing catalyst. Introduction of SO3 radicals.
    • Surfactants: Reactive in manufacture of sodium alkyl-sulfosuccinate.
