FMC Foret produces Sodium Bisulfite in two concentrations: 35% and 40%. It is mainly used to treat water, as a food additive and in the paper industry.

- Preserving fruit, vegetable juices and shellfish (anti-melanotic).
- Brewery: Sterilizing barrels, tanks and equipment in general.
- Tanning: Dichromate reducing-agent in chromium tanning.
- Paper: Anti-chlorine agent after bleaching with hypochlorite.
- Textiles: Antichlorine in bleaching baths. Wool bleaching.
- Water Treatment: Agent reductor.
- Miscellaneous:
- Photography: Reducing-agent and preservative for fixers.
- Synthetic Fibers: Polymerizing catalyst. Introduction of SO3 radicals.
- Surfactants: Reactive in manufacture of sodium alkyl-sulfosuccinate.
