Zeolites
Zeolites are easily found in the environment, usually in volcanic rocks.

The name zeolite comes from the Greek Zeo and Lithos (boiling rocks) and reflects the fact that rocks containing zeolites seep water when heated, looking as if they are boiling.

Synthetic Zeolites are purer than natural Zeolites , which make them suitable for a number of uses, including in detergents.

In this industry, Zeolite A is used to soften water (eliminating calcium and magnesium), which enables the surfactants to act more effectively.

FMC Foret
is part of EUZEPA (European Zeolites Producers Association), which represents the producers of ZEOLITES , and has set up voluntary initiatives (such as BREF or ICCA HPV) analyzing the effect of zeolites on the environment. ( www.zeodet.org )
